The Outback Power FLEXmax charge controllers stand out as one of the strongest and most efficient charge controllers available. OutBack's advanced MPPT algorithm offers up to 30% more power to your batteries than stock PWM controllers and other types of chargers. The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) feature assists the system in determining the best voltage and current combination to send to your batteries in order to maximize the amount of power it can send. In addition to improved power and efficiency, this allows you to install a more compact solar array that uses a higher voltage than your battery system voltage. The FM60 can handle up to 150 volts DC from the solar array, which is stepped down to the battery bank's voltage.

The FM60 has an integrated 80-character display that shows the most recent system status as well as data logs going back 128 days. For more advanced features and configuration, you can install an optional MATE system display and controller. If you're using an Outback inverter, you can attach the FM60 and the inverter to a single MATE3 controller using a HUB communications manager. Only the MATE3 controller is compatible with new Outback inverters.
