According to UL1449 rev3, the MidNite Solar 300V Surge Protector Device (MNSPD) is a Type 2 device. It protects service panels, load centers, Classic, other charge controllers, off-grid PV combiners, 120/240 VAC circuits,, or where the SPD is directly attached to the electronic device requiring safety on both AC and DC systems. ETL has listed it for the United States and Canada.


The MidNite Solar Surge-Protector Device (MNSPD) is a Type 2 device that provides protection to service panels, load centers, or where the SPD is directly attached to the electronic device that requires protection. It is designed for both AC and DC systems. The SPD can only have maximum security if it is properly mounted.


To optimize the necessary degree of security, the MidNite Solar SPD is available in four different models. The clamping voltage is reduced to a reasonable level that your device can withstand without causing damage to the electronics.
